This Sleigh won a prize in Sonoma's Christmas Deco Contest--and
well it should have. The four designers really came up with something very
fresh and cute. Jade wrote it up, and her original instructions can be found
here. I just saved
the images and cut and pasted her text over here as well.
2 quarter staffs
1 medium crate
1 large crate
1 Throne (I call this the ugly throne. **Note, the
pretty Magincian throne faces only 2 directions, so can not
be used.)
2 folded cloth (keep together)
2 cut cloth (keep together)
1 bedroll
1 bag (dyed any color you want)
1 stacked bag of flour
(Flour does not normally stack, the way to get a double
bag of flour is to go to wheat fields and pick your own wheat,
then grind them into flour until 2 of the bags stack. Not
all bags stack, so you have to grind until they do. The
bakery in Haven has a flour mill you can use to grind flour.)
**NOTE, The cloth, crates and throne should all be dyed
to a color as closely matching as possible.
To lay out the sleigh takes 12 tiles in a 3x4 area.
I have numbered them in the following picture to help when
placing items.
1. Place Shepard's crooks side
by side and lock down. (tiles 1 and 2)
2. Place quarter staffs as shown
and lock down. (tiles 4 and 9)
3. Raise west crook 2. Raise east
crook 2. That gives you guidelines.
4. Place 2 folded cloth (tile
5) and lock down. Stack on medium crate and lock down.
When this design was in the contest, the members of KVP took
turns babysitting it, so it could be seen by the judges with all the reindeer
in place!
Adorable!
